Travellers still at Preston leisure centre site

A group of travellers remain camped in the grounds of a Preston leisure centre, say leisure centre bosses.

Four caravans are currently camped at the West View Leisure Centre.

Four caravans have been camping in the car park at West View Leisure Centre in Deepdale since last Saturday, April 29.

According to staff, some of the travellers have been paying to use showers and toilets at the leisure centre.

Jimmy Khan Partnership Manager for Preston Greenwich Leisure Limited said:"We currently have four caravans on site that started to arrive last Saturday. The Police have been informed and they will be leaving the site. They have not been any trouble."

Ownership of West View Leisure Centre transferred from the council to the social enterprise, Greenwich Leisure Limited, on May 1.
