We might be heading for autumn but Lancashire basked in some distinctly summery temperatures today.

The mercury hit the low 20s as the sun came out and folk hit Preston’s parks to catch some much welcome rays.

Any hopes of an Indian summer might be short-lived, however.

The Met Office has predicted showers on Thursday, though the temperature will remain pleasantly warm, peaking at 19C over the next couple of days.
