The battle to catch ‘em all in Lancashire could have been won by a Preston man.

Sami Swain claims to be the first trainer in the county to catch all 145 Pokemon available on the world-wide gaming phenomenon Pokemon Go.

Playing the game for two hours a day since its release in mid-July, the 29-year-old reveals he hasn’t exactly played by the book in his hunt for the creatures.

“I didn’t have the time to walk around to catch all the pokemon but I wanted to because I’d been reunited with my childhood and for my daughter who’s obsessed with the game,” said the CEO of web design company Web Spinner UK.

“I jailbroke my phone so I could change what location it thought I was in, downloaded an app which gave me a keypad to move my character and got an app which told me where every pokemon in the world was. It then became obvious I couldn’t catch them all in Preston so I changed my location to London, New York, Toyko and Australia and then walked around and caught them all using the map.”

And the Ribbleton man is now looking to sell his account on the game.

He said: “I’ve seen them go for more than £5,000 so I’d really like to sell it.”
