Celebs to cook up a storm at Preston city centre event

Let’s Cook...Live will see three celebrities take to a stage on Preston’s Flag Market for an afternoon of fun and entertainment.

Soap star and Celebrity Masterchef contestant Scott Maslen, CBeebies star Katy Ashworth and ITV’s Dean Edwards will take to the cookery theatre stage to serve up some family-friendly dishes.

The free family event has been organised by the city’s Business Improvement District (BID) and will take place on Saturday, July 8 from 12pm until 4pm.

Mark Whittle, from Preston BID, said: “The reaction to this has been really good and although we’ve put on similar events before it’s being met with lots of excitement.

“There’s something for everyone and we’re also inviting some of the city’s best restaurants to do demonstrations.

“There’s been lots of interest and we’re just deciding on which places will take part to get the best cross-sections for everyone who will be coming along.”

Katy Ashworth, from the children’s television programme ‘I Can Cook’, will show younger members of the family how exciting cooking as a family can be.

Dean Edwards, from ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ has been a professional chef since 2006 and will be putting together some mouth-watering dishes in front of the live audience.

Maslen will complete the line-up at ‘Let’s Cook...Live’ and prepare some of his popular signature dishes as featured on Celebrity Masterchef.

Mark said: “We’re also installing a giant screen and stage to ensure everyone really feels a part of the event.”
