He pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, and two counts of failing to stop after an accident.

The court was told damage was caused to property forming part of the land on which the road was situated, but he failed to give his name and address at the scene.

The magistrates’ bench imposed seven penalty points and said they had taken his guilty pleas into account.

He was ordered to pay a £120 fine and a £30 victim surcharge.

The court did not make an order for prosecution costs.

A vandal who caused people to fear he would be violent during a racist incident in Leyland is to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court

Ryan Thomas Robertson, of Hough Lane, Leyland, had also caused £2,000 damage to a door during the same fracas on April 8, Preston Magistrates’ Court was told.

The 28-year-old entered guilty pleas to a string of offences, including criminal damage, possessing cannabis, threatening unlawful violence and using threatening or abusive behaviour which was racially aggravated.

The bench deemed their powers were insufficient to deal with the case.

The case was committed to the higher court.

Robertson will next appear for sentence on May 24.
