Appeal for witnesses over incident which left woman in critical condition

Police are appealing for information after a woman suffered serious injuries following a collision in Preston.

At around 1.10am yesterday, November 2, a 37-year-old woman from Fulwood, Preston was driving an orange Peugeot 106 car close to the junction of Ribbleton Lane and Blackpool Road when the vehicle collided with a tree.

The driver suffered serious head and pelvis injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment. She is in a critical condition, police say.

The road was closed for more than three hours while accident investigators attended the scene.

Acting Sergeant Lee Campbell, of Lancashire Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for information following a collision in Preston.

“A 37-year-old woman has suffered serious injuries and we want to establish exactly what happened.

“If you saw the orange Peugeot before the incident, or witnessed the collision, please call police.”
