Fire crews put out car blaze

A car was found on fire in Preston last night but fire services are not yet sure of the cause.

Crews from Preston were called to Skeffington Road on 10.25pm to find the rear of the car on fire.

“One fire engine from Preston attended and used a hose reel to put out the flames,” said Preston fire station’s watch manager Mike Birks. “We then used a thermal imaging camera to make sure there were no more hotsports in the car.

“We’re not yet sure of the cause of the fire, but we have passed the incident on to police and our investigation is ongoing.”
