Fire services were called to a large barn fire at around 7pm yesterday (December 7) on Bartle Lane.

Six fire engines from Garstang, Penwortham, Preston, Longridge, Tarleton and Chorley, and an aerial ladder platform from Morecambe were called to combat the blaze.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Services said: "When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a fire involving a barn and approximately five tonnes of hay.

"Firefighters used three jets to extinguish the fire and worked with the owners who also provided machinery to help extinguish the fire."

The cause of the fire is under investigation and there were no injuries reported.
