“Football mad” Rachel Marie Murphy won’t be able to wear her favourite team’s signed strip for her funeral after Liverpool FC said they couldn’t provide one.
Rachel Marie Murphy, 23, from Ribbleton, died on Wednesday, April 20 after being struck by a BMW on Brockholes Brow.
A friend of Rachel and her family had contacted the club to ask for a signed strip for Rachel to wear at her funeral, but the LEP understands they were told it wasn’t something the club could offer.
A spokesman for Liverpool FC Foundation Team said the club does not comment on its activities in these circumstances.
Rachel’s friend, 17-year-old Shelby Maher, was also killed in the incident with another 15-year-old taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm and leg.
