A six-figure funding package provided by Royal Bank of Scotland is helping Chorley-based manufacturer Morgan Bros (Metalwork Solutions) Limited to forge ahead with significant expansion plans.

The firm is set to move premises, trebling its capacity and opening up a new manufacturing line.

The new premises based on Chappell Lane Business Park is helping to accommodate further manufacturing equipment and additional staff that will allow Morgan Bros to start manufacturing a new glass line.

This will complement its traditional metalwork range that plays host to a wide range of industries, including: supermarkets, local council projects, shop fitting hotels and restaurants, construction projects and the motor industry. Paul and Tom Morgan are a third generation of Morgan’s to run this successful company since it was established nearly 57 years
ago.

Paul and Tom are predicting the new glass plant, together with the manufacturing facilities, will help increase the company’s annual turnover from £2million to £3million over the next 12-18 months.

And staff numbers are set to rise from 26 to 35 by the summer of 2016. Tom Morgan said: “We could not be more delighted with what the new premises will offer, mainly the additional workshop space to accommodate all our in house facilities, the installation of state of the art equipment for us to start manufacturing glass and the capacity to welcome our newest team members.

“I see this as a very positive move for us.”
