Rock supergroup Snakecharmer, who boast legendary guitarists and the son of a virtuoso rock keyboard player, are to play Preston.

The band was founded in 2011 by former Whitesnake members Micky Moody (guitar) and Neil Murray (bass) along with a perfect mix of

hi-calibre musicians in Laurie Wisefield (ex-Wishbone Ash, guitar),

Harry James (drums), Adam Wakeman (the son of Yes and ARW legend, Rick, keyboards) and Chris Ousey (vocals). Their self-titled debut was released in 2013 and showed off a finely crafted hard rock style mixed with blues and melodic overtones somewhat akin to Whitesnake (1979-81 era) and Bad Company with hints of early Foreigner. Performing regularly in support of the album, they built a solid fanbase all over Europe. The highly rated Simon McBride replaced Moody in 2016 in time for the recording of ‘Second Skin’, the band’s highly anticipated second effort. Bringing listeners straight back to the good old days of real rock n’ roll played with heart and soul, the new songs are slightly harder edged in comparison to the debut. Strong, passionate, rocking and blues-laden, ‘Second Skin’ is quality British hard rock at its very best.

They play Preston Guild Hall on May 24. Go to prestonguildhall.co.uk
