A journalist’s life is seldom dull, and sometime’s downright bizarre.
Yesterday I was given the opportunity to interview no less a superstar than Sooty.
He’s in Lancashire several times this year – Blackburn St George’s Hall on Sunday, June 29, Fleetwood Marine Hall on Wednesday, July 30 and Southport Theatre Wednesday, October 29.
And his people were only too keen to get the star to do interviews.
What I do know, through the squeeks, is Sooty joined by Sweep, Soo and Sooty’s TV Partner Richard Cadell who will be attempting to keep Sooty from getting up to mischief.
After explaining I didn’t know the shorthand for Sooty speak, I was told: “He will try to annunciate!
“Also, Richard can translate very well.”
The show revolves around Sooty’s birthday party where things aren’t going to plan.
Sooty and Sweep get messy baking the birthday cake while Soo faces the ultimate women’s dilemma – which dress to wear.
Special party guests include legendary Sooty favourites Butch the bulldog and Ramsbottom the snake.
There’s also a chance to meet Richard and Sooty after the show.
Next up at Marine Hall is the dazzling Let’s Dance on Ice on Saturday, August 2, brought to you by Ice Glitz Productions, the same team behind the venue’s Winter Wonderland on Ice last year.
This spectacular ice skating show is performed on synthetic ice and designed to astonish with breathtaking lifts, tricks and spins by a cast of international ice skating stars.
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £8 for children, £10 for concessions and £12 for adults.
Rounding things up over at Thornton Little Theatre on Sunday, August 31 after a show at The Atkinsonin Southport , on Tuesday August 12, is Marty Macdonald’s Farm voiced by CBeebies’ Justin Fletcher.
Pongo the pig, Sheena the sheep and Molly-Moo the cow perform in an interactive puppet show for kids.
Join in the adventure, make new friends and sing along to your favourite songs and nursery rhymes in a live and interactive theatre show with bags of fun and laughter, down on Marty MacDonald’s Farm.
