Edward Scissorhands the musical, Matthew Bourne’s magical production of Tim Burton’s modern fairytale, returns to Salford’s Lowry next week for its first major revival.

Since its 2005 premiere the stage show has enjoyed sell out performances in Europe, America, Asia and Australia.

Based on the classic Tim Burton film the touching love story tells the bittersweet tale of a boy created by a lonely inventor who dies leaving him alone and unfinished. Left with only scissors for hands, he must find his place in a suburban world where the well-meaning community struggle to see past his appearance.

The title role will be played by two popular New Adventures stars, Dominic North and Liam Mower.

Edward’s sweetheart Kim Boggs will be played by Ashley Shaw and Katy Lowenhoff, and Saranne Curtin makes a welcome return to the company to play Joyce Monroe.

It runs from Tuesday to Saturday with Thursday and Saturday matinees. Tickets from £29, box Office: 0843 208 6005 or www.thelowry.com
