Timeless cinema comedy Some Like It Hot (U) will be screened at The Dukes on Monday October 27 as part of the Journey Café arts events series.

Musicians, played by Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon, accidentally witness the Valentine’s Day Massacre and take flight.

With few other options, they transform themselves into women and join an all-girl band bound for Miami, encountering Marilyn Monroe along the way – but ruthless gangster George Raft is in hot pursuit...

The film is shown at the Lancaster cinema as part of their efforts specially programmed for people with dementia and their families. Some changes will be made to lighting and sound to ensure a comfortable environment is created.

Before the film begins, free tea/coffee and pastries are available in foyer for all ticket holders, which provides the chance for a social get-together.

An accompanying carer/family member goes free.

All tickets are £4, but there is an online booking fee of £1.

For more information or to book tickets call The Dukes box office on 01524 598500 or book online at www.dukes-lancaster.org.
