Wanderlust has gripped two stars who are to appear at Garstang Unplugged this month.
Natural explorers Dave McGraw and Mandy Fer have built their musical careers on stories of their travels.
McGraw spent a decade as a wildlife biologist, working everywhere from Mexico to the Grand Canyon. Fer spent time in Spain, where she studied music and culture.
Together the two song-writers have funnelled every- thing they have seen and experienced into a mix of rich, detailed folk music and rootsy Americana.
McGraw’s hard-hitting tunes echo the culture and landscape of the American West and he spins tales of everyday folks looking for a little something more in life.
Fer takes a more dreamy approach with her sultry and haunting melodies. Her lead guitar propels the duo through their performances.
The duo live on an island in north west Washington State, so they are the furthest away from Garstang of all the guests.
Their new album Maritime has charted at number one on the Euro Americana chart for both August and September.
They are to appear at Garstang Unplugged on Thursday, October 16, at the Kenlis Arms, Ray Lane, Barnacre, from 8.30pm.
Tickets (£10) are available on 01995 602795, via the website www.garstangunplugged.com or on the door on the night.
