Chairman of the Society Martin Cassell said: “We thought Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a bit of Bach, so here’s the opening chorale of ‘Jesu, meine Freude’, which we’ve just stared rehearsing for our next concert.”

The society, led by conductor Robert Brooks, will be performing in Preston Minster on March 14. See www.cecilians.org.uk or facebook.com/prestoncecilians for more information.

The society is always happy to welcome new voices, and
details of how to get on touch are also online.

By tomorrow lep.co.uk will have delivered a digital Advent calendar of song, with musical
treats uploaded every day since December 1.

From choirs to brass bands, buskers to pantomime stars, goth rockers to folk and beyond, singers and musicians of all ages and styles have taken part, and the songs will remain online to view throughout the festive period.
