The Lancashire Evening Post has teamed up with St Catherine’s Hospice and concert promoters Cuffe and Taylor to launch Symphony Idols – a county-wide search for singing talent to join pop sensation Will Young and US blues and rock great Joe Bonamassa on the bill.

We want choirs and solo singers to open this year’s Symphony Spectacular concert at Hoghton Tower, near Preston, on Sunday July 3.

This final concert of the weekend will feature a live orchestra, picnics, family fun and a stunning firework finale.

All you need to do to enter is record a video performance of you or your choir singing any song of your choosing, be that classical, contemporary or downright original - and submit it to us by this Sunday May 1.

Chief executive of St Catherine’s Hospice, Stephen Greenhalgh, said: “Symphony Idols is a great opportunity for members of the community to really get involved and show their support for our flagship fundraiser, Symphony at the Tower.

“Extending the event this year to cover three evenings means we can offer this exciting opportunity of performing on the same stage as global celebrities Will Young and Joe Bonamassa to some of Lancashire’s most talented rising stars.
