Experimental rock will take over The Coninental next month when The Oscillation rock up at the Riverside pub on August 23.

Dubbed “a vast shiny beast of hypnotic, gig-shaking rhythms and riffs” by rock bible MOJO, the London four-piece veer from driving krautrock edginess to bittersweet pop melancholia, with droning medicated tones and noise driven ‘no wave’ fuzz.

The Oscillation recalls the kosmische musik of Neu! and Tangerine Dream interpreted with an eye on Pil’s dubbed out punk funk, Miles Davis’ experimentalism and Spacemen 3’s strung out blues rock.

Support on the evening comes from North West psychedelic veterans Three Dimensional Tanx, who have been ploughing this particular furrow for over 10 years now.

During this time, they have been ‘sound carriers’ for Can man Damo Suzuki, performed at Tate Britain with artist Linder Sterling and smashed it at 2013’s Liverpool Psych Fest.

Saturday August 23, doors 8pm.

Tickets are £8 and are available online now from Skiddle, See Tickets & WeGotTickets. In person from The Continental (01772 499 425) or Action Records (01772 884 772).
