Final preparations are being made ahead of Preston’s Flag Market being transformed into an arena of music and entertainment this weekend.

Saturday’s Familyfest – organised by Preston Business Improvement District (BID) – will see performances from singing sensation and Dancing on Ice winner Ray Quinn and Britain’s Got Talent stars Bailey McConnell, Henry Gallagher and Ella Shaw.

Earlier this year, singer Ella, from Langho in the Ribble Valley, wowed the judges on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, securing a place in the live semi-finals.

The 18-year-old, who will perform at about 3.30pm, said: “As a Lancashire girl I really cannot wait to perform in front of a local crowd in Preston.

“I got lots of support from people in Preston during my time on Britain’s Got Talent and it is always great to be able to come and perform for them live.

“It is really exciting for me to be part of such an incredible event that is providing free entertainment for the whole family – and there are some great performers in the line-up.”

Completing the packed line-up will be another former Britain’s Got Talent performer Mr Zip, as well as Matt Fitzgerald, Redd, Tiger Heart, Chris Atkinson and Distracted.

The entertainment will start at 1pm from a dedicated stage on the Flag Market and there will be an area for some lucky fans to meet the stars for autographs and pictures.

As well as the live music and entertainment from hosts Luke Marsden and Jordan North, of Rock FM, there will be competitions taking place throughout the day.

Among the prizes on offer will be a £100 Familyfeast Marks & Spencer voucher, donated by the St George’s Shopping Centre.
