One of Preston’s top pubs stages its 12th Beer Festival from today.
It all starts tonight at The Continental, on South Meadow Lane, with an Open Mic Night Beer Festival Special in the Snug.
Then things kick off tomorrow and Saturday with a full line-up of bands to suit all tastes.
6pm - The Remedy
7pm - The Kausters
8pm - Doug Perkins & The Spectaculars
9pm – The Fast Camels
3pm - Spiral Scouts
5pm - 1.21 Gigawatts
6pm - India Mill
7pm – Djangobop
7.30pm - Templebys
9pm - Hyperjax
The venue’s car park will be covered with a large marquee, creating a second beer hall with more than 150 different beers.
The organisers say: “This may well be one of the best and most popular so far.
“The North West’s finest rockabilly / punk act the Hyperjax headline the Saturday, and the two days also see sets from Preston soul/funk act Templebys, Glasgow psych rockers The Fast Camels, The Kausters, 1.21 Gigawatts, The Remedy, and more rockabilly from Doug Perkins and the Spectaculars.
“There’ll also be DJ sets from local groove collective The Funky Onion.
“Add to this some Morris dancers, an Open Mic session in the Snug on the Thursday night and a few other surprises and you have a Beer Festival like no other.”
