Preston city centre had a taste of Hollywood as an A-list blockbuster film started shooting today.

Cast and crew of Liam Neeson and Sigourney Weaver’s new film ‘A Monster Calls’ descended on Great Times Chinese restaurant, Lancastria House, Preston to film scenes for the 2016 movie.

Hollywood moved to Preston today as a film crew took over the Great Times Chinese Restaurant next to the covered market. The crew were filming scenes for Liam Neeson's latest movie A Monster Calls, which also stars Sigourney Weaver. Huge floodlights set up outside the restaurant.

And shocked market stall holders could not contain their excitement as they realised Preston’s open air market would be featured as a backdrop in the multi-million pound movie.

Market trader Steven Furnell, 54, said: “It’s quite different, not an everyday thing.

“I’m very excited about it.

“I think it is the best thing to ever happen to Preston and I’m hoping to get a cameo.”
