The wizarding world of Harry Potty came to Lancaster as award-winning illustrator Jonny Duddle, chatted with around 100 fans at Lancaster Castle’s Shire Hall.

Jonny had been chosen to re-illustrate the series of Harry Potter books, which will be re-released this month, and took the time to answer questions and sign books at the event, organised by SilverDell Books in Kirkham.

Elaine Silverwood who runs the bookshop said: “It was a fabulous event and it was the only other one to take part outside London - the castle was very appropriate for the theme.

“It was the first time Jonny had seen the illustrations on the books in person and he was just thrilled with them.

Elaine added:“We had people come from all over the country and we event sent a signed set of books to a lady in Argentina who had heard about the event on a Harry Potter fansite.”

A question and answer session chaired by Jake Hope, saw Jonny answer questions on how he got the job and the ideas process for the jackets.
