Organisers of Adlington And District Carnival are preparing to welcome stars of the small screen this weekend.
Bunting is already hanging around the village and a marquee will be set up in coming days on Jubilee playing fields, on Park Road, ahead of the weekend of fun.
It is hoped thousands of people will turn out to enjoy a parade, world record attempt and appearances by soap stars.
Jennie Snape, the carnival committee’s vice-chairman, said: “It’s all coming together really well. There are more people entering the parade and wanting to come on the field.
“It does say the weather is going to be bad at the beginning of the week, so we have that to contend with, but we hope the sun will be shining for the carnival.”
The popular event starts at 7.30pm on Friday with bingo in the marquee.
The parade sets off at noon on Saturday, following an alternative route due to the closure of Railway Road for railway electrification work.
Entertainment during the afternoon includes cheerleaders, Preston Pipe Band, a Captain Jack Sparrow lookalike and a circus.
Rock ’n’ roll collective Lankykats will lead a world record attempt at 5pm, aiming to get 2,500 musicians playing Status Quo’s Rockin’ All Over The World.
The evening’s entertainment will include a children’s disco, cabaret and an appearance by Thomas Milner from BBC1’s Waterloo Road.
On Sunday, Emmerdale stars Natalie Robb and Anthony Quinlan will be in the marquee to meet fans.
There will also be a baby show, dog show and more.
