The countdown is on for this year’s egg rolling event in Preston’s top parks.
The traditional egg rolling day will take place on Easter Monday in Avenham and Miller Parks.
Official mass egg rolls will take place on the hour throughout the day from 11am.
The popular event alongside the traditional Easter bonnet competition will also include free creative workshops, street performances with a Wimbledon parody and four crazy clowns, plus live music from local singers Daisy Wignall and Lloyd Willacy, and the UCLan samba band.
The bonnet competition, judged by the Mayor of Preston, Coun Veronica Afrin, takes place at 2pm
Tim Joel, head of events at Preston Council, said: “This year’s Easter programme offers a fantastic variety of events.
“No two Egg Rolling events are ever the same, with something new and different featuring in the programme each year, while still ensuring the traditions remain central to the event.”
He added: “This year is set to be as exciting as ever, however a visit to Egg Rolling isn’t complete without rolling an Easter egg down the hill – don’t forget to bring yours.”
There will also be an interactive workshop called ‘Who Stole Easter?’ presented by local theatre group Wooden Spoons which will solve the mystery of the golden egg, and ‘The Wonderful World of Mr E’, encourages participants to join him on travels to strange new lands.
