A University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) student will see his work appear on the national television today.
MA Scriptwriting student Elliot Hope has co-written an episode of daytime drama Moving On for BBC One.
‘That’s Amore’, co-written with Elliot’s writing partner Johanne McAndrew, will be broadcast on at 2.15pm.
It features some famous faces including funny man Jason Manford and popular face of comedy drama Rebekah Staton.
The programme also marks the directorial debut of St Helens comedian Johnny Vegas.
Elliot and his co-writer have written scripts for some of nation’s favourite programmes including Candy Cabs, Holby City, Dalziel and Pascoe, Casualty, Down to Earth and Where the Heart Is.
He is also currently working on an episode of Holby City and has been commissioned to write a feature film.
The mature student said: “I’m delighted to have won a place on the MA in Scriptwriting at UCLan.
“Despite having more than 16 years of experience in the UK television industry, I am learning new techniques and obtaining a huge breadth of knowledge from all the various disciplines that are contained within the syllabus.”
Course leader Bill McCoid added: “Elliott is a massively talented writer who embodies what the course at UCLan is all about.”
