Three exciting railway-themed events are coming to Preston later this month.
Kicking off the trio on September 20 is ‘Tracks Of My Years’, a chance to learn how to research railway history – and also how to start your family tree – which will be of interest even if your long-distant relatives didn’t drive trains, shovel coal and mended engines.
From 9.45am there will be a chance to use some of the online resources and look behind the scenes at the Lancashire Archives, and take part in a guided walk around the sites in Preston associated with the railway, ending with a tour of the Park Hotel in East Cliff, formerly the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Hotel. The whole day costs £5 (lunch not included) and booking is essential. Call 01772 533039
