Leyland’s St Ambrose Players are preparing to take to the stage for their first show of 2013.

Midsummer Mink, a comedy by Peter Coke, runs from February 20 to 23 at St Ambrose Church Hall in Moss Lane, Leyland.

It’s about Dame Bee and her lodgers, the Brigadier, Hattie, Nan and Lady Alice embarking on a series of ‘operations’ as they become ‘fences’ to acquire funds to donate to charity. Gradually, operations become more and more dangerous, and finally, with the house full of furs, hidden in musical-instrument cases ‘borrowed’ from the Albert Hall, and with a police inspector making enquiries, they decide to retire – temporarily.
