Organisers of a new Preston soul night have announced that their next event will be in support of the crisis hit Space Centre.
The team behind the Preston’s Got Soul night at 53 Degrees have said proceeds from their next event on Saturday, December 1 will go towards helping the stricken centre.
The centre, which provides support and sensory stimulation therapy to disabled adults and children and help for their families, hit a crisis after promises of £800,000 funding failed to materialise.
Now the night, which is billed as the soul and Motown event’s Christmas Special and features a guest spot from US Northern Soul star Tommy Hunt, will help the centre.
Preston’s Got Soul was set up to relive the glory days of the Northern Soul scene.
Russ Winstanley, the kingpin of Wigan Casino, is another regular guest at the night, alongside DJs from clubs like Manchester’s Twisted Wheel.
Tickets for the Christmas special are £10 in advance from 53 Degrees on 01772 893000.
