Screening of film celebrates Guild

Project: Matt Stanton

Project: Matt Stanton

Voluntary arts organisation, Triptych Community Arts, will host the premier screening of Preston Motion Picture Project at the Christmas Lights Switch-On event on Saturday November 17 in Preston City Centre.

Set to an orchestral work by acclaimed composer, Michael Nyman, the film, made up of a collection of cinematically captured images from across Preston in this, the Guild year, will be shown twice, once at 3pm and again at 6.30pm on a big screen at the Flag Market.

Triptych Community Arts was formed by Matt Stanton specifically for this project and includes the many aspects of Preston that make people proud; the landscapes, traditions, public events and the people.

The final day of filming will be Sunday November 11 when f volunteers will gather to film the Remembrance Day ceremony and parade in front of the Cenotaph, possibly the last Remembrance Day before the Cenotaph is refurbished in time for the centenary of World War I.
