Has it come to this? Former Streets star Mike Skinner felt just like he wasn’t famous in Preston last weekend.
The man who made A Grand Don’t Come For Free could barely muster a hundred people for his new project, The D.O.T. with former Music vocalist Rob Harvey.
Skinner pulled a huge crowd here in the main room as The Streets four years ago. And bandmate Harvey’s outfit, The Music, packed this venue just three years ago.
But, despite offering an interesting fusion of new sounds, Preston is not ready to move on. To repeated shouts of “Play something we know,” The D.O.T. left the stage after 45 minutes with Skinner saying bluntly: “It’s just not working.”
