Leyland Band received a standing ovation at its annual Christmas Spectacular on Sunday evening.
Mayor of South Ribble Coun Dorothy Gardner said: “I was speechless. I can’t describe how fantastic it was.
“They put their hearts and souls into it, and I just loved it. If Christmas didn’t start for everyone then, it never will. We’re so lucky to have this in Leyland.”
The concert, held at St Mary’s RC Church, Broadfield Drive, included a selection of Christmas songs and carols, including Away in a Manger, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, The Little Drummer Boy and White Christmas.
“I couldn’t choose my favourite,” Coun Gardner added. “I loved it all. I invited other mayors too, and they all thought it was wonderful.”
