Sumo wrestlers and martial artists took over Preston’s Flag Market to celebrate sport in the city.
As part of the Harris Flights programme of art and community events, Preston Council’s sports and leisure team took over the historic square for a day of sports demonstrations, dames and stalls.
There was sumo suits for visitors to try on, as well as climbing walls, badminton games and much more.
There was also demonstrations of the traditional Japanese martial art of aikido.
The summer’s Harris Flights programme includes theatre, dance, live music, science, film and sport staged on a temporary staircase built from the Flag Market up to the Harris Museum.
The programme, which has a family focus throughout, involves over 60 arts organisations, community and faith groups along with charities, across the four weeks in an eclectic line-up.
