Range Rover drivers worse than White Van Man

Range Rover drivers have cut up the White Van Man to be named the worst motorists on Britain's roads.
Cyclists say that the Range Rovers - favoured by school run mums and footballers - cause them more problems than White Van Man.

All 4x4 drivers are feared by cyclists but the two-wheel brigade have picked out Range Rover owners for their tailgating behaviour, a poll by www.50cycles.com showed.

Drivers of white vans were second in the poll - also being singled out for their tailgating.

While I don't condone tailgating of either cyclists or car drivers, I would be very interested to know whether the people who took part in this survey ride their bikes in single file, as I was taught to do, or two/three or more abreast blocking the road, ignoring road marking and traffic lights. I see this quite often and unfortunately some of the worst culprits are from a local cycle club. Not only should they know better but what a wonderful example they are setting for children in the area!

Jaquie R - it's called assertive riding and by taking ownereship of the road prevents idiots driving past at 60mph.

Women in 4x4s are just about the least courteous drivers on the road, that said young women seem less courteous than most on the road altogether in my opinion.
