New store to have pensioner-friendly features

A supermarket giant could be about to open its first pensioner-friendly store in the UK.
If given the go-ahead, the Tesco store would feature extra wide aisles, anti-slip flooring, trolleys with locking wheels and built-in chairs to rest tired feet.

Newcastle City Council's Development Control Committee is expected to consider Tesco's plans to build the 60,000sq ft store later this year.
