Reisdents on a Lancashire street no longer have the picturesque views they once enjoyed.
For years residents in Hoghton View, Frenchwood, Preston, and nearby Southern Parade, enjoyed panoramic views across rolling countryside.
They could gaze out over the River Ribble as far as Hoghton Tower.
But Preston Council planted a stretch of trees and bushes which has now completely blocked the view.
Allison Fell, 49, is the third generation of the same family to live in Southern Parade on the corner of Hoghton View and she wants the trees to be removed.
She said: "It was a lovely view – it was so nice. People used to park up and picnic there.
"Since the houses were built which was in the 1920s my grandma lived here and my mum of course.
"My grandparents had visitors over from America and they said, 'Elizabeth (her grandmother) this is the finest view in Preston'. It is an amazing view."
Allison and her neighbours have been demanding the trees be removed for years, saying: "If you are from the area, you take an interest in the area. We are not asking for much, we just want it back the way it was.
"It was such a beautiful view and people should be able to enjoy it."
Ken Whiteside, 77, and his wife Marion, 71, of Southern Parade, built their own home 30 years ago, to enjoy the view.
But instead of enjoying their retirement Marion is forced to sweep up piles of leaves from the trees as well as piles of rubbish.
Marion said: "I was sweeping the leaves up and slipped - I just went down and hurt my shoulder and bruised my knee. They have made it really hard for us."
Ken said: "It is called Hoghton View but there is no view at all I think it should be called Hoghton Tip.
"When we first came here it was lovely but they do not look after them."
