Monty Python and Fawlty Towers star John Cleese revealed he would rather have a lemur species named after him than receive a knighthood or peerage.
The comic actor returned to Bristol Zoo Gardens to discuss conservation, his childhood in the West Country and three fund-raising performances to be held within the grounds of the zoo.

Speaking at the zoo, Cleese - who declined a CBE in 1996 - said: "I would rather have that than a knighthood or peerage.

"They're the sweetest little creatures. They never snatch food from you."

How refreshing to hear a comic great say this about an out of date, toffie nosed, stuck up class ridden hog wash that stands for a knight hood. These titles are given to any old tom, dick and harry, and needs scrapping for a more fairer way of rewarding real people. Theses days its not what you know, its who you know!RIGHT BASIL!
