Banana handout to end exam hoodoo

A school is handing out bananas to pupils before they sit exams in a bid to boost pass rates.
The Thomas Clarkson Community College, in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, gave the fruit to students sitting Sats after finding performance slipped in the second half of tests.

Andy Houghton, from the school, said that last year students did well for the first half hour but then the number of questions they got right dropped significantly.

That was why they were using bananas in a bid to boost energy levels.
