A woman was taken to hospital after a head-on collision in Lancashire.
Emergency crews were called to Leyland Road in Penwortham near Preston at 7.02pm on Sunday where a Saab and a Renault Clio had collided close to the Bridge Inn.

Firefighters gave the woman First Aid until paramedics arrived to take her to the Royal Preston Hospital.

Crew manager Chris Wales, from Penwortham fire station, said: "It looked quite bad when we got there.

"There was a female inside the Clio who had some injuries - they weren't severe but she was still in the vehicle and was being looked after by one of the lads from the Saab."

He said she was experiencing pain down her left side and had a suspected fractured collar bone.

It is believed the Clio was heading towards Preston while the Saab was driving in the direction of Penwortham.
