Suspicious activity led to motorway closure

A Lancashire motorway was closed because police feared a man might try to run out into traffic.
The M65 between junction one at Bamber Bridge and junction two at Walton Summit was closed both ways after reports of "suspicios activity".
A spokesman for police said: "We have had a report of some suspicious activity, a male acting suspiciously by the side of the motorway.
"The motorway has been closed in case the male runs out into the motorway."
Reports that the carriageway had been closed were released at 9.05am as officers conducted searches of the area.
However, officers said it had been reopened by 9.15am.
