A motorcyclist has crashed on a Lancashire motorway causing long rush hour tail backs.
The emergency services were called to junction nine of the M61 northbound, near Bamber Bridge, at 5.50pm on Wednesday, after reports a motorcyclist had come off his bike.

The rider's injuries are not thought to be serious but it caused long delays on the motorway although the traffic began to clear an hour later.

The male motorcyclist was taken to Royal Preston Hospital and was treated for minor injuries.
