Actors will take to the stage to show schoolchildren how to stay safe on the roads.
Research by the Lancashire Road Safety Group shows two-thirds of young people put themselves in danger by using mobile phones, MP3 players or fooling around with friends while crossing the road.
Walking Forward Theatre Company will put on a new play, The Price, in schools to show youngsters the dangers.
The play is aimed at 11 to 12-year-olds who have moved up to secondary schools.
Clare Farrer, deputy Road Safety Group manager, said: "It is a true story using both humour and serious facts to get the message across."
