Safety improvements are to be carried out on a busy Lancashire road where an elderly cyclist was killed.
Grandmother-of-five Eileen Fletcher, 65, of Stone Croft, Penwortham, near Preston, was knocked down by a car as she crossed the A59 close to the Lancashire Police HQ at Hutton, near Preston, in December 2006.
Highways bosses at Lancashire County Council have now recommended "essential" road improvements be carried out, including repainting worn road markings, adding new signs and replacing old ones at various points on the A59.
But some residents say they are disappointed cash has not yet been put forward for more major works at the danger spot where Mrs Fletcher was killed.
George Gilbert, chairman of Hutton Parish Council, said: "We're disappointed it's not been acted upon at this time but it's an ongoing situation and hopefully action will be taken before another fatality occurs."
