Regulator accepts Network Rail's revised plan

Regulators have accepted Network Rail's revised plan for completing the £8.6bn upgrade of the West Coast Main Line that runs through the North West.
But they warned that NR, which plans a summer of weekend closures of sections of the West Coast Main Line in order to complete the work this year, must do all it can to minimise passenger disruption.

Bosses of the Office of Rail Regulation said the giant project will be finished by December.
