A rail worker from Preston will not face charges over the Grayrigg rail crash, British Transport Police have confirmed.
The 46-year-old, who worked for Network Rail, was arrested in July 2007 in connection with the accident which left one passenger dead.

More than 20 people were injured after a Virgin Trains Pendolino service to Glasgow derailed in February 2007.

A 64-year-old man from Tebay was also released without charge. A 60-year-old man, also from Tebay, has had his bail extended by police until November 3 as police continue their inquiries.

An initial report by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) blamed a faulty set of points for the crash.
