A 53-year-old man was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after his motorbike collided with a car in Lancashire.
The accident happened in Morecambe Road, Morecambe, close to the main entrance of Lancaster and Morecambe College, at around 4.50pm on Monday.

Police said two vehicles, a black Yamaha motorbike and a blue Ford Focus, were heading away from Morecambe towards Lancaster in "relatively slow moving traffic" when the collision happened.

The 53-year-old biker, described as being from the local area, suffered serious head injuries in the smash and is being treated in the Royal Preston Hospital.

The driver of the car, a 34-year-old man from Lancaster, was also taken to hospital to be treated for shock.

Lancashire police force incident manager Insp Simon Atkinson said: "Whilst a couple of witnesses have come forward, it is possible staff and students from the college and other people passing in the area may have further information about this accident."

Anyone with information is asked to call Lancaster police on 01524 63333.
