Commuters into Lancashire faced long delays after a lorry crashed on a motorway.
Police were called to the M6 northbound, close to junction 26 between Orrell and Standish, at 11pm on Thursday, where a lorry had been involved in a collision with a car and had jack-knifed across the carriageway.

The northbound motorway was closed overnight and two lanes remained closed on Friday as crews worked to remove the lorry and repair damage to the carriageway.

The lorry driver sustained minor injuries.
