Whether you fancy a trip into town or a walk in the country, a new guide book to a Preston bus route is full of ideas.
The Orbit Leisure Guide details places of interest along the 17-mile Orbital bus route and includes museums, galleries, places to eat and drink, walks, entertainment spots and sports venues.

The guide also includes four varied walks that can be accessed from the Orbit bus service, which takes a circular route around Preston.

The guide gives detailed directions and maps for walks that start and end on the bus route.

The Orbit Leisure Guide was launched at the Ancient Oak Public House in Cottam, which is where two of the walks in the leaflet finish.

The Orbit bus service is operated by Preston Bus and runs seven days a week with frequencies of up to every 15 minutes. It runs both clockwise (buses numbered 88C) and anti-clockwise (buses numbered 88A).

The Orbit Leisure Guide, and the Orbit Timetable Leaflet 221 are available to pick up from Preston bus station, Preston's libraries, tourist information or County Information Centres.

It can be downloaded from www.transportforlancashire.com or you can email timetableorders@lancashire.gov.uk and ask to be sent a copy through the post.

Can't blame them I suppose, an empty pub and empty buses trying to drum up trade. At least the taxpayers aren't funding the pub.....
