A huge smash on the motorway in Lancashire has sparked traffic chaos.
The incident happened just before 10am on the southbound M6 just before junction 34 at Lancaster. Four cars and an HGV were involved.

Drivers told police the accident was caused after cars swerved out of the way of a large piece of debris - thought to be metal - in the middle of the carriageway.

Two people have been taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with what are described as minor injuries. No one was seriously injured.
But the crash has closed the first two lanes of the southbound carriageway while the vehicles are recovered and a diesel spill in the road is cleaned up.

The green Leyland HGV had been moved to the hard shoulder and was awaiting recovery.
A spokesman for police said one of the drivers told officers at the scene there was a "large piece of debris on the motorway."

A black VW Polo and a silver Peugeot 206 were among the cars involved in the accident, police said.
A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said two amulances were sent to the scene. The air ambulance was also requested but did not take anyone to hospital.

A 20-year-old woman and another casualty were taken to hospital by land ambulance.
The two lanes were still closed at 11am on Thursday.
