A five-car smash has sparked chaos on a Lancashire motorway.
The westbound M55 was brought to a standstill after the collision at around 3.30pm on Friday.

The accident happened between junction three at Kirkham and junction four at Marton, Blackpool.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said no-one is believed to have been seriously injured. A woman and two children were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The spokesman said there was debris across the carriageway and lane three was still closed at 4.30pm.

It has sparked long tailbacks along the westbound side with cars trailing back on to the M6.

The motorway is expected to be fully reopened at around 5.30pm.
