A motorcyclist from Lancashire has died after his bike collided with a Peugeot 206 and then hit a tree.
Dad-of-two Craig Hardingham, 46, from Chorley, died at the scene of the accident in Wigan on Thursday evening.

His blue Suzuki 1000 collided with the yellow Peugeot on Parbold Hill and left the carriageway before colliding with a tree.

Sgt David Tonge, who is leading the investigation, said: "This is a tragic set of circumstances and our thoughts are with Craig's family."

Craig's family also paid tribute to the experienced motorbike rider in a statement which said: "Craig was a loving family man with two children, Bethany Rose, 12, and Dillon Craig, seven.

"He was an experienced motorcyclist and had been riding motorcycles since he was 14 years old.

"The collision happened on Parbold Hill when he was returning home from his place of work in Southport."

No-one else was injured in the accident. The road was closed for three hours while accident investigation teams worked on the scene.

Anybody with any information should contact police on 01695 566486 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

My best friend in the world and her 2 children are devastated at the loss of Craig. He was a loving and caring man who would drop every thing to come and help you.
He loved Marion and was devoted to his 2 children in every way, running then here, there ,and every where to watch Dylan play footie to watching Beth in Birmingham at a kick boxing competition nothing would stop him.
My thoughts are with Marion,Dylan, Beth the FAMILY of a truley missed partner and dad.

I am marian's brother there has been enough upset in this family since Thursday this is not the time or the place to bring up past events. Let my brother in law REST IN PEACE. He was devoted to his family and as the saying goes anyone can be a dad but it takes a special person to be a father and thats what Craig was an brilliant father to my neice and nephew.

RIP Craig.
with love Paul, Carolyn, Laura and James.
